Operator and contact
Richard Patey is a self-employed operator. Correspondence address: Bishopbrook House, Cathedral Ave, Wells BA5 1FD, United Kingdom. Email: richard@richardpatey.com. These terms cover richardpatey.com and any payment made to me directly, including through a Stripe payment link or invoice.
What this site is
richardpatey.com is my personal site. It lists the businesses I run now and the ones I have run, sold or retired. Nothing is sold on this page itself. Some services, such as the Redundancy Day below, I sell directly through Stripe payment links.
Payments through my businesses
Several of my businesses take payment through Stripe, so your card statement may show my name. Each has its own terms on its own site, and those terms apply to what you buy there. For example: BidPadel and Snowbistro.
Payments made to me directly
If I send you a Stripe payment link or an invoice, it states what you are buying and the price before you pay. Payments are one-off unless the link or invoice says otherwise. Nothing renews automatically unless you agreed to it at checkout.
The Redundancy Day
The Redundancy Day is a one-day, in-person advisory service for people who own or run a business. It costs $10,000 all-in, paid as a $1,000 deposit and then a $9,000 balance. The price includes the Cost Base Snapshot and scoping call, the day itself, my flights and hotel, the signed-off cost-base plan, a written 90-day action plan and a 30-day check-in call. There are no day rates or expenses on top.
It is sold for business purposes. By paying, you confirm you are buying for your business and are authorised to share its information with me.
The deposit and the Cost Base Snapshot
The $1,000 deposit reserves your place and pays for the Cost Base Snapshot. After you pay, you send me your P&L, your org chart with roles and salaries, your hiring plans and, if you have them, your main sales and marketing numbers. Within 5 working days of receiving them, I send you a short written audit and we hold a short scoping call.
Once the Snapshot is delivered the deposit is not refundable, because it pays for work you keep. If you go ahead with the day, it is credited against the $10,000. If you don't, you keep the Snapshot and there is nothing more to pay.
The balance, the date and travel
If you want to go ahead after the Snapshot, you pay the $9,000 balance and we agree the date together. I book flights only after the balance is paid. The day can be at your office, on a padel court, on the slopes or anywhere else we agree.
If either of us needs to move the date, we agree a new one. If I cannot deliver the day, I refund the balance in full.
After the day
Within a week of the day I send you a written 90-day action plan, and we hold a check-in call at around 30 days.
What the Redundancy Day is not
It is advisory only. I do not build or implement automations, sell software or train your staff. Your team, a contractor or an agency does the building.
It is not legal, HR, tax or employment advice. If you decide to change or remove existing roles, take advice on the employment law where you operate before you act. In the UK and EU in particular, redundancies come with formal consultation and notice rules.
Savings figures are estimates to help you decide, not guarantees. Every decision about your business and your people is yours.
Confidentiality
I treat the numbers and documents you send me, and what we discuss on the day, as confidential. I use them only to deliver the Redundancy Day and do not share them without your permission, unless the law requires it.
Refunds and payment problems
For a duplicate charge, an unauthorised payment, a mistake, or something you paid for and did not receive, email me promptly with your name and the payment reference. Do not send card details. I will investigate and correct the problem or refund you where a refund is due.
Nothing here excludes mandatory consumer rights where they apply, including cancellation rights and remedies for services not provided as agreed. Contact me to exercise any of them.
The track record
The table on this site is my own account of my businesses, with links to public sources where they exist. Businesses marked sold are owned and run by their buyers. Links to them go to sites I no longer control.
Links and responsibility
Links go to independent websites with their own terms. I aim to keep this site accurate and available, but errors and interruptions can happen. I remain responsible for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud and death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes and disputes
I may update these terms for future use and payments. The terms shown when you pay apply to that payment. Please contact me first about any complaint so we can try to resolve it. These terms do not restrict any mandatory rights or access to courts available under applicable law.
