How much does padel cost in the UK? Court prices and occupancy in 2026
By Richard Patey. Last updated 29 October 2026.
Short answer: At UK multisite operators that publish their prices, a padel court costs a median of £48 an hour at peak and £38 off-peak. Split four ways, that’s about £12 per player at peak and £9.50 off-peak. Industry benchmarks are a little lower: Oxygen Consulting puts the median peak rate across the nine largest UK operators at £42 (June 2026), and Playskan’s average listed price is £34 a court hour (October 2026).
These numbers come from the research I publish on BidPadel (the guide). Here’s what stood out.
1. Most operators don’t publish a price at all
We checked one venue at each of 48 multisite UK operators. Only 8 of 48 publish a clear hourly price on their website. The rest hide it in an app or booking flow.
That matters more than it sounds. When a player asks ChatGPT “how much is padel near me”, the AI can only quote prices it can read. Clubs that hide prices leave the answer to whoever does publish.
2. The price range is wide
| Peak | Off-peak | |
|---|---|---|
| Median (7 venues with both rates) | £48 | £38 |
| Range | £34 to £60 | £22 to £48 |
| Median per player | £12 | £9.50 |
Off-peak per player runs from £5.50 to £12. The cheapest off-peak court is less than half the price of the dearest peak court, a bigger spread than most club owners assume.
3. Peak is busy, off-peak is the problem
Occupancy figures depend on who is measuring:
- Playskan (UK average, 90 days to 23 October 2026): 57% overall, 70% peak, 50% off-peak.
- MATCHi (its own platform, January 2022 to April 2026): 81.5% peak, 47% to 54% off-peak, average booking made 5.5 days ahead.
- My own capture (three clubs in one English county, five days, late August 2026): 69% of bookable hour slots were unavailable.
Don’t average these. They use different clubs and definitions, and “unavailable” includes coaching and league blocks, not just paid bookings. But they agree on one thing: peak evenings fill, and weekday daytime is where clubs lose money. That gap is why so many clubs now push off-peak memberships (BidPadel’s membership pricing guide covers the six models clubs use).
4. What this means if you’re opening a club
Turnover is price times occupancy times courts times opening hours. At £48 peak and £38 off-peak, a few points of off-peak occupancy are worth more than a price rise. BidPadel’s padel club investment guide works through it.
